Professor Amit, Robert B. Goergen Professor of
Entrepreneurship at the Wharton School, is a renowned scholar who
has developed some of the world’s leading
programs in technological entrepreneurship. He is the Academic Director of the
Goergen Entrepreneurial Management Program at Wharton and was founding director
of the W. Maurice Young Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Research Center
at the University of British Columbia. He serves on the editorial boards of the
Strategic
Management Journal, and the Journal of Business Venturing.
Professor Amit has extensive industry and consulting experience. He has held
a range of management positions in entrepreneurial settings and participated
in the formation and growth of numerous companies. Professor Amit has also consulted
to private and public sector organizations in North America, Asia and Europe
on a broad range of strategic issues, and on entrepreneurial management and new
venture formation issues. He has extensive experience in executive education
having taught a range of courses in North America, Europe, Asia, and in Australia.
